Billy Petito
Music teacher, guitarist, keyboardist, bassist, composer, and music producer based out of Peekskill, NY.
A skilled performer both in the studio and on stage, Petito can be heard throughout New York state and NYC as a sideman with a wide variety of professional ensembles including the Dave Rivello Ensemble Red and the Rita Collective, or fulfilling his role as a member of working bands including PopStyle, Prime Time Brass, the Lance Hoffman Orchestra, and more.
Petito has held a number of prestigious teaching posts including the role of Director of Jazz Bands at Rochester’s School of the Arts, the Instructor of Jazz Guitar at the Eastman School of Music, Music Production and Contemporary Guitar Faculty at the Eastman Community Music School, Composer in Residence at the Southeast Asia Music Festival, and currently works full time as the Concert and Jazz Band Director at Byram Hills High School in Armonk, NY.
In addition to his active live performance schedule he regularly composes and arranges musicin a variety of genres for school ensembles, professional bands and orchestras, and for television, radio, and video games. Some of his original music and sound design can be heard behind commercials for the University of Rochester, Microsoft, RTA, Toyota, and Lincoln Continental.
